Award-winning building officially openened at Alderley Park
An award-winning £34million building, providing a new working environment for 750 office-based staff supporting AstraZeneca's global pharmaceuticals business, was officially opened at Alderley Park, Cheshire on Friday, 31 October. The ceremony was performed by John Patterson, AstraZeneca Executive Vice-President, Product Strategy and Licensing, who is also President of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI). The event was attended by employees and by local dignitaries.

AstraZeneca Supports New Outreach and Mentoring Initiative for Underpriviliged Students
AstraZeneca is pleased to announce that it is donating £100,000 to the Brightside Trust, a charity that aims to help disadvantaged young people gain access to medicine and the healthcare professions. The funding will be provided over three years and includes a one-year secondment to the organisation to work on its' Pathways to Medicine projects.

Local primary school children can now enjoy their science lessons by having fun whilst learning, with help from AstraZeneca, Loughborough's medicines research and development company, who re-launched their science suitcases last week. Mysoline Update
LONDON, 29 August 2003 - In early June 2003, AstraZeneca UK announced that it would be discontinuing the supply of 'Mysoline' (primidone), an AstraZeneca UK product that is indicated for use in epilepsy and essential tremor.
