A group of sixteen employees from AstraZeneca have chosen to help the Children's Adventure Farm Trust as part of a Company team building exercise.

Employees involved in tablets manufacturing at AstraZeneca's Macclesfield Works decided on a community project which would benefit a local charity. The team chose to work with the Children's Adventure Farm Trust which provides holidays for disabled, handicapped or under privileged children from the whole of the North-West region.

The project included re-organising the go-cart track with painted tyres and creating a viewing area with wheelchair access and benches. Also the team created a path through a wooded area, identifying and labelling trees and plants. Sand pits were installed to allow animal track identification and footprint castings to take place.

Pippa Watton, Fundraiser for the Adventure Farm Trust said, "We feel truly honoured, and absolutely thrilled with the results. Our go-cart track looks amazing and the kids will love the nature trail the team has created. Many of the children we help rarely get a chance to enjoy the countryside, some have never seen a real-live cow or sheep. Both the trail and the new-improved cart track will bring hours of pleasure to hundreds of special children. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all involved at AstraZeneca for making it possible."

Mike Davenport, Manager of the team said, "The project was successfully completed in three days at the cost of aching backs and shoulders. The team members had lots of fun and have long term memories to cherish, everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves despite encountering some bad weather."

AstraZeneca would like to thank the local contractors and suppliers* who have offered their support and donated materials towards the team building exercises in aid of the Children's Adventure Farm Trust, Little Bollington.
