Hospitals helped by a lack of dress sense!

Two local hospitals have benefited from cash raised by staff at a leading Loughborough company after they showed an appalling lack of dress sense by arriving at work in trousers which failed to match the rest of their clothing!
Two local hospitals have benefited from cash raised by staff at a leading Loughborough company after they showed an appalling lack of dress sense by arriving at work in trousers which failed to match the rest of their clothing!

It was all part of this year's Wrong Trousers Appeal and around 800 people, two-thirds of the staff at AstraZeneca R & D Charnwood, grabbed the opportunity to shock their fellow workers with a wide extravaganza of clothing mis-match.

Each gave one pound for the privilege of looking outrageous and the company showed its appreciation of their efforts by matching this, doubling the c. £800 raised to c. £1,600.

The money was divided equally between the Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham and cheques for c. £800 were handed over by the staff to Sue Shepperd, Assistant Business Manager at QMC, and Margaret Cave and Cathrine Julian at the LRI.

Also present, to brighten up the proceedings and to show the two guests how it was done were some of the staff involved, suitably attired!
