Local charities benefit from recent AstraZeneca success

To mark a recent successful regulatory inspection of one of its important manufacturing facilities at Macclesfield, Cheshire, AstraZeneca have made donations totalling £5000 to a number of local charities on behalf of staff.
To mark a recent successful regulatory inspection of one of its important manufacturing facilities at Macclesfield, Cheshire, AstraZeneca have made donations totalling £5000 to a number of local charities on behalf of staff.

Following previous successful inspections staff have enjoyed a celebration party, but on this occasion staff were keen to take a different approach to mark their success and decided to donate to various local charities.

A team of staff from the 'Zoladex' manufacturing facility were asked to manage the process. Following nomination of over 50 charities by employees, the team eventually decided to award donations to :-

Sanjay Vaja, a member of the organising team at AstraZeneca, said, "It's great to know that the money will have a long lasting impact on all the charities and it's always good to acknowledge all the hard work that these charities are doing".
