We comply with strict safety, health, environmental and quality regulations. The Manufacturing Department maintains the highest standards of safety as a priority, using specifically designed procedures and equipment to protect our staff, the public and the environment. High standards of design, training, control and record-keeping are used to assure quality and continuous improvement.

At Avlon, we actively promote 'green commuting', in collaboration with South Gloucestershire Council and other local businesses. Our aim is to reduce traffic in the local area by encouraging employees to share transport as much as possible when travelling to and from work, or to use public transport whenever appropriate.

In keeping with AstraZeneca's worldwide policy of making a difference in the communities in which it operates, Avlon supports local causes with healthcare or educational themes. Employees are encouraged through sponsorship to take part in charity events.

Around the boundary of the Avlon site land we have created the Hook Farm Conservation Area. This has many interesting features and is available to staff, their families and local school parties.
